Nefarious is primarily a progression raiding guild, and it is our aim to be progressing through the current raid content.
We understand that not everyone wants to be a fulltime raider though, so we also aim to provide a fun environment for players who simply want to enjoy the game with friends, and other like-minded people.
OUR LEADERSHIP TEAM
We tend to operate with a cohesive leadership team, rather than having strictly assigned roles, with all officers involved in most aspects of the running the guild. Our current leadership / officer team is;
Guild Lead - Amphe
Officer - Bab
Raid Lead - Rompalstomp
Co-Raid Lead - Archymage
Warrior Lead - Rompalstomp
Cleric Lead - Fallingfromgrace
Rogue Lead - Parkhyeyeon
Primalist Lead - Parkhyeyeon
Mage Lead - Archymage
You should feel free to contact any member of the leadership team if you have any questions or issues related to the guild.
Our member base is predominantly Australian, but we have members from all over the world including New Zealand, Asia, North America and Europe. We are happy to have members from anywhere, but you need to understand that our prime time, and when you will find the largest numbers of people online, is in the evening Australian time (loosely 6pm - 11pm Australian Eastern Standard Time). You will certainly find people on at other times of the day, but the numbers will be much fewer.
We have a good mix of male and female players, and most of our members are 18+. Please be aware that guild chat can get a little R-rated (ie. swearing, innuendo etc) from time to time, but we are careful not to let things go too far.
OUR EXPECTATIONS OF ALL MEMBERS OF THE GUILD
Nefarious prides itself on maintaining a good reputation in the gaming community. All members are expected to conduct themselves maturely, and in a way that does not tarnish that reputation. We expect our members to treat their fellow gamers, whether in the guild or not, with respect.
Members may be kicked from the guild where they engage in activities such as, but not limited to;
- bullying & harassment of other players - puerile or offensive spamming in public chat channels - public trashing of other players / guilds - blatant cheating, hacking or exploiting
We do understand that from time to time you can come across people who detract from the fun of the game. In these circumstances, you can always /ignore - it is a wonderful tool. If you have issues with someone else from within the guild, you should contact an officer.
We maintain a guild website and forums. Please visit them regularly to stay abreast of what is going on, and to contribute your views to discussions.
Guild Leader - As the name suggests, the leader of the Guild ! Officer - Members of the leadership group of the guild who run raids, look after recruitment, manage administration of the guild etc. Class Lead- Members of this rank are our Class leaders.
Alumni- Members of this rank are former officers and officer alts. Raider - Members of this rank are our core raid force members. Reserve- Members of the reserve rank are the primary back-up to our raid force. They may be people who are unable to meet the attendance requirements of being a raider, or people who wish to become a raider but there is currently not an available spot in the raid ranks. Member- General member of the guild. Raider and Reserve alts are also set to this rank. Recruit- This rank is for all people newly recruited to the guild. Those recruits seeking to become core raider will be noted by officers. Raid recruits will be subject to a trial period in the guild, and after their trial period they would either be promoted to raider rank, or reserve rank based on their performance. Those recruits not seeking a raid spot will progress to become a member or reserve rank after their trial period (though that does not preclude them becoming a raider at some point in the future). Inactive- If you have been offline for more than 90 days, you will be moved to inactive rank. If you recommence playing again, you will be promoted back to member. Please note that long-term offline characters (usually in excess of one year) may be removed from the guild by an officer.
RECRUIT TRIAL PERIOD
All recruits, whether a Raid Recruit, or a general Recruit, will need to complete a trial period with the guild before becoming a fulltime member. Generally, this trial period is to help us assess whether you are a good match for the culture of the guild, and for Raid Recruits it is a chance for us to assess your performance. This will ultimately help us determine whether you will become a fulltime member of the guild, and what your most appropriate guild rank will be.
Ordinarily we would expect the trail period to go for about 4 weeks, though it will depend to some extent on how often you are online. If you are not online very often, it may be a little longer. Feel free to approach an officer if you want to check on your trial period if you are uncertain.
Please note that during the trial period, recruits have restricted access to the guild bank.
We currently have 3 formal progression raid nights - Monday, Thursday and Sunday every week. Raids begin forming up at 8.15pm (Australian Eastern Time). Raids will be filled from within the raider rank first, but where there are raid spot vacancies, spaces will be filled from Raid Recruits > Reserves > other members.
There are usually informal raids for previous tier content held on Saturday nights, and other nights for 10 man content. Keep an eye on the guild MOTD, and the guild wall in-game, or ask other members what is going on. Newer members needing to gear-up are encouraged to get along to these nights.
There is a full set of raiding rules on our forums, and if you join Nefarious, and are interested in raiding, you are expected to make yourself familiar with these.
